Elizabeth Kelsey Nevitt has a strong background in federal energy policy, having served as the Senior Legislative Assistant to Rep. Bart Gordon (D-TN), then-Chairman of the House Science Committee and a senior member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. Ms. Nevitt advised Chairman Gordon on energy and environment issues before the House Energy and Commerce Committee and worked closely with Science Committee staff on energy and environment initiatives. In addition, Ms. Nevitt managed appropriations, budget and tax issues, financial services, and transportation for Chairman Gordon, and served as his liaison to the centrist Blue Dog Coalition. She came to Capitol Hill in 2007 as an aide to Rep. Zack Space, handling appropriations and transportation portfolios, among other issues, and was a co-founder of the Women’s Congressional Staff Association.

Prior to her time on Capitol Hill, Ms. Nevitt was a Government Affairs Associate at the American Public Works Association. There, she managed a federal grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency educating water utilities on environmental management practices.

Ms. Nevitt holds a B.A. in Communication and Political Science from Muhlenberg College and an M.A. in Political Management from the George Washington University.
