Deborah Sliz

President and CEO

Deborah SlizDeborah R. Sliz has more than 25 years of federal policy experience, with expertise in issues affecting the electric utility industry, particularly consumer-owned utilities.

Ms. Sliz joined Morgan Meguire in 1999 and in 2006 became President and CEO. Prior to her tenure at Morgan Meguire, she was Senior Vice President and Director of Legislative Services for APCO Associates (now APCO Worldwide), a global public affairs and public relations firm. At APCO, she provided government relations, integrated public relations, grassroots development and management services to private-and public-sector clients.

From 1985 to 1989, Ms. Sliz was Director of Government Relations and Preference Campaign Coordinator for the American Public Power Association, the national trade association that represents the interests of state and locally owned utilities.

Ms. Sliz served as Counsel to the House Interior and Insular Affairs Committee Chairman, Morris K. Udall (D-AZ) from 1979 to 1985 and was responsible for legislation affecting federal water and power programs, nuclear power, Native American water rights and natural resources.

She holds a B.A. from Emory University (1972) and an M.A. and J.D. from the University of Arizona (1974, 1979).
